Biography

I went to 4 years of college and then 4 years of Medical School at McGill University. Then I specialized in Anesthesiology at the Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta.  After more than 20 years in the medical field—studying, learning, getting experience, working in an operating room, suddenly life changed!

Why I am qualified to teach
Citizenship in the Nation*
My husband, Tom Price, who is also a medical doctor, decided to go into politics. After managing an Orthopaedic Surgery practice he was elected to the Georgia State Senate for 8 years.  Then he decided to run for Congress and is now the U.S. Congressman from the 6th district of Georgia (Cobb, Cherokee, Fulton, DeKalb). This means we live in both Roswell and Washington, D.C. going back and forth.  I enjoy meeting people from all over the country and the world.  Part of my duties as spouse are to help people understand how they can access the information and help that his office can provide—such as dealing with bureaucratic issues related to the federal government.  Also, we can help people planning trips to our nation’s capital.  I especially enjoy giving personal tours of the White House because the history of our nation’s presidential families comes alive when you visit their residence.  There is so much to see and do in Washington, and you can gain appreciation of our founding fathers and the principles of our government.  One of Congressman Price’s greatest privileges is to nominate worthy young men and women to the United States Service Academies:  West Point, the Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy, the Coast Guard, and the Merchant Marines.  He would be glad to help with information if you are interested. An opportunity many students enjoy during their college years is spending an internship in Congressman Price’s office either here in Georgia or in Washington, D.C. For information on legislation, Capitol tours, flags, internships, or academy nominations, please look at the website     http://tom.house.gov/index.cfm
