I've been involved in Scouting pretty much ever since I joined the Cub Scouts when I turned eight in 1960. My Scouting career has been quite diverse. I've served as Scoutmaster, Team Coach, Explorer Advisor, and Venturing Crew Advisor over the years. I've also served as Committee Chair, COR, and Institutional Head. As a youth, I attended the 1967 World Jamboree, the 1969 National Jamboree, and Philmont. I'm currently registered as a Council Member at Large and through my calling in the LDS Church, I organize Merit Badge Clinics, Camporees, JOTA, and various training events.
Scouting did much to shape who I am. I've taught in the public school systems of Washington, Utah, and North Carolina for over 40 years. Recently I've been a technology teacher and math coach. For the past few years, I've been teaching first grade. I'm teaching 5th grade this year.
I live on a small (just over an acre) farm in rural North Carolina where my wife and I raise a garden, chickens, rabbits, bees, and our eighteen-year-old daughter.
