Biography Hi there! My name is Liz and I am a first year graduate research assistant and PhD student under Dr. Callie Babbitt for the Golisano Institute of Sustainability. My research is focused on engineered nanomaterials including fullerenes and end-of-life materials flows from emerging lithium-ion battery systems. I graduated from James Madison University last May with a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Science and Technology. My hobbies include running and training for half-marathons and playing with my dog. I am very excited to teach the Sustainability Merit Badge class and look forward to meeting you!
Why I am qualified to teach
Sustainability*

Sustainability is the development that meets current needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. This subject teaches us how to critically think about the environment, society, and the economy. While earning this badge, Scouts learn about climate change, species extinction, resource extraction, green chemistry, recycling, and zero-waste manufacturing.

Successfully completing this sports-activity merit badge is one of the requirements to earn the rank of Eagle Scout; other eligible options for completion of this badge include Cycling or Hiking (only one of these three sports-activity badges must be completed to earn the rank of Eagle Scout).
