Biography |
I have been interested in the weather since I was a little kid growing up near Austin, Texas. Before I started high school, I knew I wanted a career as a meteorologist.
I earned Bachelor's of Science Degrees in Meteorology and Environmental Studies from Iowa State University in 2004. I then moved to North Carolina to obtain my Master's of Science Degree in Atmospheric Science from NC State University, where my focus was on Air Quality.
After a brief move to St. Louis, MO, I obtained a job as a Hydrometeorological Intern at the National Weather Service Peachtree City and moved to Atlanta in January 2007. As an intern at the National Weather Service, I get to do a variety of things, including launching weather balloons, work with NOAA Weather Radio, reporting to the public and media, going on tornado damage surveys, giving talks to schools and other organizations, and learning the tricks of forecasting the weather.
