Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.
We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.
Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.

Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info. Let others in your unit know they should do the same. We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

This promises to be an exciting opportunity to earn the Citizenship in the Nation merit badge! We will tour the Virginia State Capitol, the Governor's Mansion, and learn about the Constitution and other documents. Family and friends are invited.
Pre-requisites: #3, #6 and #8. Please have your son read the Consitution.

Description |

Uniform: Class A. Since we are touring the Capitol, it is important that everyone be in full uniform and looking sharp. If Cubs, AHG or others will be coming, please have them wear their uniform also.

BLUE CARDS -- don't forget your blue cards! Have your son fill out his name, address, troop number, and the merit badge in the appropriate places. If he's old enough to be a Scout, he's old enough to learn how to fill out this form. Blue cards should be signed beforehand by the Scoutmaster.
Prerequisites:
#3 -- watch the news. Be prepared to discuss what you saw/read.
#6 -- read a speech of historic significance. Be prepared to discuss with your counselor.
#8 -- write your congressman. Bring a copy of your letter and any response you may receive. Have them do this now to allow time for a possible response.
Read the Constitution and be familiar with it.

To register, you will first need to register with meritbadge.info and select an adult; then it will allow you to register your Scout. Register all Scouts, including AHG/GS, who are 11 years old and up on meritbadge.info (or otherwise a Boy Scout). For non-Boy Scouts, put the name of their organization in parenthesis behind their name, ie Sue Johnson (AHG).
Next, please email me at cjohnson498@verizon.net everyone who will be attending. Likewise indicate whether they are an adult, Cub, Boy Scout, AHG, GS, non-Scout, etc. Include unit number in this email.
Should you need to cancel your registration, please be courteous and cancel at least 24 hours of the event. There may be others who would like to come in your stead.

|
Virginia State Capitol Building, Bank Street, Richmond, VA. The entrace to the Capitol is located on Bank Street, basically underneath the Capitol. You cannot enter the Capitol from the main building at the top of the hill. The door is at the bottom of the hill. Keep in mind we will go through security as we enter the building.
Parking: Parking in the city can be tricky. Add at least 15 minutes to your time to allow time to find a spot. The plus is we're getting started early on a Saturday morning so hopefully it won't be too bad. The City of Richmond said street parking is free on the weekends (no need to feed that meter). The two hour limit signs do not apply; however, the other restrictions (no parking zones, etc.) still do. Allow yourself time to find a spot and to walk a couple of blocks to get to the Capitol. There are paid lots and garages nearby if all else fails. Most accept credit cards, but have cash on hand just in case.
