Central Region Area 5 (in cooperation with Sea Scout Ship 7007 and Southwestern College) announce #GetOnTheWater - Marine Biology Day in Winfield, Kansas!

Event Description

Get a great introduction to Sea Scouts and the Marine Biology program at Southwestern College!



Scouts BSA members in attendance should complete all requirements for the Oceanography merit badge -- also, Venturing and Sea Scouts will make progress on the "Wade" Nova award.



Weather-permitting we will visit the Southwestern College field station in Dutch Creek seine for fish and crawdads; Visit Winfield Lake for plankton sampling and bring the samples back to look under the microscope.

Youth in attendance must have a parent present.  Also, weather permitting we will visit either a creek station or lake station, which will require transportation.  We are not equipped to provide transportation to and from these locations.
