Biography Tara Davis, proud Eagle Mom, graduated from Agnes Scott College with a BA in History, and is currently a Senior nursing student at Brenau University School of Nursing earning her BSN degree. Pulling from former business and medical experiences such as a Corporate Sales Manager for Borders Books, Accounting Manager of a pediatric group, dispensing optician at Pearle Vision Center, and Office Manager of Back to Health Chiropractic, Tara has taught the Salesmanship, First Aid, Personal Management, and Public Speaking Merit Badges. Tara currently serves on the State Board of Directors of  the Georgia Association of Nursing Students as Publications Director and Webmaster.

From her background in history, she has taught all three Citizenship Badges, the American Heritage Badge and the Scholarship Badge. This former member of the Rogers Little Theater Board of Directors has also taught the Theater Merit Badge. When her son, Guy Martin, was Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 2144, Rogers, AR, Tara also taught the Family Life, Personal Fitness (background in dance), and Snow Sports merit badge (on the annual Scout Ski trip: avid lifelong snow skiier).

Prerequisites for this Activity This Merit Badge is heavy on the lecture/research component. For this reason, we request Second Class Scouts and above, please.

Prerequisite Preparation: All scouts will bring with them a half-page of information research on one influential scientist or physician as listed in requirement 1 of the merit badge pamphlet. Scouts who complete this will be rewarded with a special Scout Treat!

Optional Preparation: If a Scout has completed requirement 10 to volunteer at a health fair or a blood drive, please bring documentation or have an adult leader vouch for this achievement.
