Biography	I teach Welding and Drafting/CAD at Hutchison High School in Fairbanks, Alaska.  I am a merit badge counselor for Welding, Metalworking, and Drafting.
Why I am qualified to teach Welding	This merit badge covers welding safety, SMAW (stick) welding, GMAW (wire feed) welding, plasma cutting, small projects, and welding career information.
Prerequisites for this Activity	Scouts should obtain a copy of the Welding mertit badge guide.  They need to read through the welding safety portion of the book before coming to class.  Scouts should also investigate the career portion of the book.  During class, we will cover some safety and career information, but time is short and needs to be spent on welding and cutting.
