Biography My name is Greg Euston and I am leading the Communications MB class on February 27. I'm looking forward to it and believe that we will have a lot of fun together, provided you take a little time to prepare in advance. In the notes below, I have outlined the topics we will cover in class and what I would like you to work on between now and then.

We will complete, or at least attempt, requirements 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 9.

You will need to complete requirements #5 and #7 on your own; if you complete them before the class then we will take some time to get you signed off. If you don't, then I'm around and will be happy to help you complete this badge.

To make this class fun and help you earn this badge, please do the following things before you arrive.

First, read the latest printing of the Communications Merit Badge pamphlet. Bring a base of knowledge to class.

Please complete requirement 1 - any part - before class. Please come prepared to introduce yourself to the group, for between 30 seconds and a minute. (Requirement 2). That means you should spend some time thinking about what you want to say about yourself. I will be timing you.

Prepare a 5-minute speech on a topic of your choosing and plan to deliver it to the class (Req 3) and plan to teach your classmates how to do something (Req 6). For both of these, I strongly encourage you to pick subjects you know and like so that you can invest your time in making them interesting for the class. For requirement 6, you can teach us to tie a knot, a first aid skill, an element of Leave No Trace, or anything else you like. If you need materials, bring them.

Requirements 4, 8 and 9 we will handle in class. No prep necessary.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing each of you on the 27th.
