I have been practicing law for 28 years in both Nebraska and Iowa. My specialty is civil trial work, with an emphasis in insurance defense litigation, and a further specialty of medical malpractice defense work. I regularly lecture on medical-legal issues the at University of Nebraska College of Medicine, Creighton University College of Medicine, and to various medical practice groups in Omaha. I have taught high school mock trial courses at David City Aquinas and Brownell-Talbnot High Schools. In addition to my full-time law practice, I am also an adjunct prorfessor at Bellevue University teaching a junior level course, "American Vision and Values".
For the MB class, I require three things from the Scouts in attendance:
1. The Law MB book in hand;
2. The Law MB book MUST be read BEFORE attending class, as passing certain requirements will be judged by knowledge of the materials as demonstrated in class; and
3. Pen/pencil and paper/notebook.
If the Scouts do not have #1 and #3 with them on 11/13/10, they will be admitted to class but will NOT be allowed to participate, and will not recieve the MB.
The class will consist of 3 parts: lecture/question and answer, preparing for a mock trial, and conducting a mock trial. My goal is complete all the requirements for the MB during the class.
BE PREPARED !!
