Day of Merit Information for "Computers"

IMPORTANT!

The presentation of the Computers merit badge at SPSU's Day of Merit is geared toward scouts who have a basic familiarity with computers and are interested in learning more about how they work, how they can be used, and what kinds of roles they play in society. Scouts who already have an extensive knowledge of computers should consider signing up for another (potentially more challenging) badge and completing
Computers on their own.

PREREQUISITES

Scouts who have completed one or more parts of Requirement 6 before Day of Merit are welcome to bring the results so that they may be signed off. Requirement 6 will probably not be formally covered in class, because of the time and individual attention required.

Scouts interested in getting Requirement 7 signed off at Day of Merit should prepare it in advance, and come prepared to discuss their visit (7a) or show the results of their work (7b, c, or d)

All scouts should prepare Requirement 10 by researching two careers in the computer industry, and writing a brief summary of the education, training, and experience required. Scouts should come prepared to discuss what they have learned about their two chosen careers.
