Online registration begins 10/1/14
|
Description |
On January 10, 2015 check-in for the sessions starts at 6:30 am and the Opening Ceremony is at 7:30 am.
Scouts can register for 2 sessions, Morning Session is from 8:00 am - 12:00 am, lunch is from 12:00pm - 12:30pm, and the Afternoon Session is from 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm.
Ordered lunches will be distributed by troop number- cost $6.00 per lunch or you can bring your own lunch.
Merit Badges to be offered are subject to change based on MB Counselor availability and class minimums. We reserve the right to limit or cancel any class.
WALK-INS will only be allowed in classes that have openings. Walk-in scouts will need to bring prerequisites for the class in order to complete the badge.
REGISTRATION: Registration by Troop is PREFERRED. Open enrollment will begin on the above stated date. Fees are non-refundable but can be transferred to another scout. Some MB Counselors request an e-mail and phone contact for scouts for the coordination of requirement purposes.
UNIFORM: The 'Class A' uniform is the official uniform for the day. The merit badge sash may also be worn.
CODE OF CONDUCT: The Scout Oath, the Law, and the Outdoor Code shall be the code of the Merit Badge Day. A Scout whose conduct is not consistent with the code will be directed to leave the class immediately. Adequate supervision must be provided by each participating unit. Discipline is the responsibility of the Scoutmaster or other assigned leaders in charge of the troop.
TRANSPORTATION: The troop Leaders must coordinate arrival and departure time for transportation. Troops need to make certain that they have adequate transportation for their Scouts.
CLEAN UP: The Scout is clean. Troop Leaders please coordinate with your troop to clean the premises and to keep the classrooms in the same condition as found. Future offerings of the Merit Badge Day will largely depend on how neat we leave the place. All garbage must be properly disposed into designated containers or carried out.
SECURITY: Because the public has access to the college, units will need to exercise their own vigilance. Report any incidents to the event organizers.
BLUE CARDS / Merit Badge Books.......All Scouts must bring to class the following:
1. A completed in ink Blue Card SIGNED by their Scoutmaster (one per each Merit Badge)
2. A Merit Badge workbook (http://usscouts.org)
3. Any prerequisite work
The Blue Card will be updated with tasks completed in class and returned to Scout BEFORE they depart the classroom. It is the responsibility of the Scout to request and obtain his Blue Card.
