If you are having trouble registering scouts, carefully read the information on the help tab.
If you send an email that does not include the information we need to help you, it wastes time and will get promptly deleted.
Test drive the new site (in progress) at New Meritbadge.Info.Leave comments at our Facebook page.

Notice!!! Meritbadge.Info will switch to the new site with BSA validation Friday morning March 13th.

If you wish to start using this site today, click here to launch meritbadge.info/mbn2

Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.

How will we do this?

What should you do?
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

Description
McKinney Merit Badge Clinic 2019

Mark Williams has hosted this event for several years at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Melissa under the name of Melissa Merit Badge Pow Wow. I took over this event last year and moved it to McKinney as a Woodbadge ticket item.

The event will be Saturday, October 19th and Saturday, October 26th with 2 sessions each day for a total of 4 sessions.

Session 1 is October 19th from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM.

Session 2 is October 19th from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

Session 3 is
October 26th from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM.

Session 4 is
October 26th from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

Most merit badges will be 2 sessions long, one session each Saturday. Some merit badges are only 1 session long. Some of these 1 session classes are only offered on one of the 2 Saturdays. Please look at the schedule closely.

You will notice in the prerequisite area there will either be a (1), (2), or (3). This is used as a guide to let you how many of the requirements are expected to be completed at the clinic.

(1) Not expected to complete, requires significant outside work.

(2) Some scouts will complete, requires outside work.

(3) Most scouts will complete, requires minimal to no outside work.

* = Eagle Required

This event is a free event of charge, and open to all scouts. There will be a $15 fee for the Electronics merit badge. This fee will cover the cost of an electronics kit that the scouts will build on October 26th. The scouts that signup for Electronics merit badge are asked to bring $15 cash on October 19th. They will choose one of 3 kit options, and the kit will be ordered and everything will be ready for them to build that kit on October 26th.

Most of the merit badges will require some work to be completed outside of this event to earn the badge. I will send an email to the participants of merit badges with what work will need to be completed outside of the clinic to complete the badge.

In accordance with Scouts BSA Guide to Advancement (topic 7.0.0.3) Scouts must arrive at the clinic with a blue card signed by their unit leader(Scoutmaster, Advisor, or Skipper). This indicates that the scout has had a conversation with the unit leader regarding the merit badge on which the scout intends to work on. After the clinic is over a list of requirements that were completed will be compiled and emailed out to all email addresses associated with the scout. This will serve as an extra record to present your troop. I will have some Blue cards at this event, but not enough for everyone to have one for each badge they signup for. Please bring a blue card with as much information that you can fill out already filed out. Your councilor will fill out his portion.

At the day of the event you can go directly to your classroom. There will be signs labeling each classroom with the name of the merit badge. I will have a table setup just inside the North entrance if you have any questions. Some of the merit badge classes will be held in the pavilion at the East side of the parking lot.

There will not be any food or drinks for sale at this event. Please limit drinks inside the classrooms to water only. This event is held at a church where worship services will be held the next day. Please help us keep the buillding clean and ready for Sunday services.
