If you are having trouble registering scouts, carefully read the information on the help tab.
If you send an email that does not include the information we need to help you, it wastes time and will get promptly deleted.
Test drive the new site (in progress) at New Meritbadge.Info.Leave comments at our Facebook page.

Notice!!! Meritbadge.Info will switch to the new site with BSA validation Friday morning March 13th.

If you wish to start using this site today, click here to launch meritbadge.info/mbn2

Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.

How will we do this?

What should you do?
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

All the Details:

Uniform:  Full BSA Class A is the uniform of the day. We recommend that Scouts participating in hands-on type Merit Badges, wear their Class-B shirt underneath so the Class A shirt may be removed during class (optional).

Code of Conduct:  The Scout Oath, the Scout Law, and the Outdoor Code will be the required code of conduct at the event. A Scout whose conduct is not consistent with this code will be directed to report to his Unit leaders immediately.  Adequate adult supervision is the responsibility of each participating unit, and all adult leaders are expected to support disciplinary actions deemed necessary by the counselors or event coordinators.

Check-in: Check-in on the day of event by unit leader is required.

Troop/Pack On-site Contact:  Each unit is required to designate at least one adult leader who is responsible for check-in and check-out for all Scouts from their unit the day of the event. The On-site Contact may be a parent or other adult leader, is required to register on this website, and remain on site with their Scouts, helping to maintain two deep leadership throughout the event.

Transportation:  Unit leaders must coordinate arrival and departure times as well as transportation to and from the event.  Unit leaders may not leave Scouts alone for pick-up by parents at a later time. All Merit Badge classes will be conducted on the church campus, so no off-site transportation will be required during the event. Follow the Outdoor Code and be Conservation Minded. Please carpool to conserve fuel and parking places.

Clean-up:  A Scout is Clean. We will be the guests of Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer. Our goal is to be good stewards and to Leave No Trace by keeping the church premises and classrooms in the same condition as found. Future offerings of this merit badge clinic will depend on our conduct and how neatly we leave the grounds. All garbage must be properly disposed in designated containers.

Security:  During the event, units need to exercise vigilance.  Report any incidents to one of the event coordinators or counselors.  In the event of serious or life threatening medical situations call 911. Each unit participating must have at least one adult leader at the event to provide proper supervision, and must assist in monitoring of hallways and grounds during classes to help ensure security. Scouts will not be allowed out of class areas except during breaks and lunch. Some classes will be held outdoors, weather permitting, and Scouts attending those classes will be allowed to leave the group for bathroom breaks following the buddy system.

Scout Email Address and Telephone Number:  The online registration system requests the email address and telephone number for Scouts participating in the event. This is intended to facilitate the Merit Badge Counselor providing information regarding prerequisites and material that will be covered in class to the Scouts prior to the event. In the spirit of BSA Youth Protection guidelines, please provide an email address and/or telephone number for the Scout’s parents or adult leader rather than the individual Scout.

Concession Stand:  A concession stand will be available in the church kitchen throughout the day. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the day. In the morning, doughnuts will also be available. The concession stand will be closed to Scouts during class time.

Lunch/Pizza: Scouts may choose to bring their own food for lunch, or pre-order pizza at the time of registration which can be picked up at the concession stand. Pizza must be pre-ordered by whole pizza only and paid with registration. The cost of pre-ordered pizzas is $8 each.  Event coordinators may have extra pizzas available after the pre-ordered pizzas are distributed.  While there is no guarantee that extras will be available, if they are available, extra pizzas will be sold by the slice. All food consumption must be confined to the fellowship hall or outside in the upper field. Scouts will not be allowed out of the building during the lunch hour unless accompanied by their parent or adult leader.

Blue Cards: As required by BSA protocol, we will be using official BSA Blue Cards to report Merit Badge partials and completions. It is the responsibility of the individual Troops to provide each of their attending Scouts with a Blue Card signed by the Unit Leader.

Scouts must Be Prepared for class: Scouts are expected to bring blue card, paper, pencil, and a copy of the Merit Badge pamphlet (or Webelos Handbook as applicable). Any Scout wishing to complete the Merit Badge in class must also complete the pre-requisite requirements, which will be listed on the class registration page. Any requirements not completed in class or as pre-requisites must be completed later at the Unit level.

Counselor Information

Instructors:

Merit Badge Instructors will complete blue cards and return them to the Scout at the end of class. If any Scout does not complete his requirements, it will be recorded by entering each requirement in the spaces provided with the date and a signature for each, but without the completion signatures on the reverse side.

Webelos Adventure instructors will not sign the Scout's book, but will provide the Scout with a signed form indicating which requirements were completed. The Scout can present this form to his Unit Leader for sign-off.

In accordance with NEGA Council policies and procedures, we will allow units to "opt-out". This is for those units who wish to have more control over the Merit Badge completion process. Unit leaders should notify the staff upon check-in if they wish to opt-out.

Unit Sign-up Instructions

Registration:

Registration is open to all registered Boy Scouts and Webelos Scouts, regardless of Council or geographic location.  Registration will close one week before the event. Each Scout may register for one full day class, or two half day classes, and there is a $10 participation fee for each Scout. Some of the Merit Badge classes may also require additional fees for supplies, and any additional fees will be noted in the individual class descriptions.

All Scouts who wish to guarantee a class seat must be pre-registered through this online system. Walk-in registration on the day of the event will be allowed, but will be limited to only those classes with available seats; any classes with open seats will be filled on a first come first serve basis. No personal checks will be accepted for walk-in registrations.

How to register:

Note #1- This system is designed for registered Scouting units to sign up their Scouts- Using the system requires you to create a login and password. Note #2- THIS IS A TWO STEP PROCESS.

First step: Scroll to the bottom of this page and find the "sign up my unit" link, or go back to the main Registration System page and scroll to the far right for the "sign up" button. Follow instructions on that page to select Scouts and classes.

Second step: After signing up for a class or classes, next you must make payment arrangements as follows, otherwise your registration is not complete and your seat may be given to someone else:

Individual Registrations- You must return to this page and follow the Pay Pal link to complete the registration process. Registrations are not complete until payment is received.

Registered Scouting Units registering a number of Scouts for this event may pay for their entire group of two or more Scouts by Unit Check or cash up to the day of the event (No personal checks).
