- Blue card/s signed by home unit leader
- Signed permission slip (see below)
- Class A uniform

Completion of merit badges is NOT GUARANTEED. Scouts who are not fully prepared may not complete the badge but can receive partial credit on blue cards for requirements that are completed.
$5 donation for adults who want lunch (counselors and volunteers do not need to pay for lunch). Advance notice is appreciated so we know how much pizza and other food to purchase!
Our preferred method of payment is PayPal. We can also accept unit checks payable to BSA Troop 347. Checks may be brought to the event or mailed to Michelle Lozier, 4320 Balls Graveyard Rd., Port Republic MD 20676.
Refunds will, unfortunately, not be available this year, unless the event must be cancelled. The $15 is for the day, whether a scout takes one or both sessions, or an all day badge.
Once you have registered your scout/s, please go to PayPal.com to pay. Click on "send & request" at the top of the PayPal page, then enter treasurer.troop347@gmail.com in the box. Click next. Please pay $15 per scout.
For the safety and security of participants, scouts are not permitted to leave the facility during the day. All activities are conducted in accordance with BSA Youth Protection Guidelines. It is our intent to create an environment where the scouts have an opportunity to continue their advancement program and earn merit badges that may not be readily available elsewhere. It is NOT our intention to create a so-called "merit badge factory" that produces merit badges with minimal work required from the scouts. Scouts who come with that expectation will be disappointed at the end of the day. Merit badge courses are planned and presented by qualified adult counselors who are willing to take the time to share their knowledge with the scouts.
|
Counselor Information |
Thank you for volunteering your time to share your knowledge with these Scouts! Please return all blue cards to Scouts, retaining the "Counselor's Record" for your files for complete merit badges, and for partials, initial and date the requirements that the Scout has completed. Thank you! |
Unit Sign-up Instructions |
Please note that we are offering four all-day merit badges this year: Engineering, Camping, Communication and Personal Management; Scouts may sign up for one all-day merit badge. All others are half-day merit badges and Scouts may sign up for two half-day badges.
Registration begins at 7:00 and opening is at 8:00 in the church sanctuary. Please have one representative from your unit come and pick up your unit’s registration packet.
Please have a signed blue card for each merit badge a scout is taking. It is the scout's responsibility to turn his blue cards in to his unit advancement chair to be recorded and awarded the merit badge.
Each scout should also have a signed permission slip (below). Please have your scout bring this to the event; there are too many scouts to keep track of electronic copies.
Here's how to sign up:
1.) Go to www.meritbadge.info
2.) Enter the "Merit Badge Registration System"
3.) Select "Register New User" on the upper right of the screen, if you are a new user. Follow all prompts carefully. Do not rush, read the screens and make sure you select all options (Unit Leader, Merit Badge Counselor, Event Manager) at the bottom of the registration page.
4.) "Sign On" (upper right of screen)
5.) Select the "Unit Sign Up" tab
6.) Select the Merit Badge Event to register Scouts
7.) Follow the screen and add Scouts to the registration
Our preferred method of payment is PayPal. We can also accept unit checks payable to BSA Troop 347. Checks may be brought to the event or mailed to Michelle Lozier, 4320 Balls Graveyard Rd., Port Republic MD 20676.
