If you are having trouble registering scouts, carefully read the information on the help tab.
If you send an email that does not include the information we need to help you, it wastes time and will get promptly deleted.
Test drive the new site (in progress) at New Meritbadge.Info.Leave comments at our Facebook page.

Notice!!! Meritbadge.Info will switch to the new site with BSA validation Friday morning March 13th.

If you wish to start using this site today, click here to launch meritbadge.info/mbn2

Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.

How will we do this?

What should you do?
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

Sinclair District of the Chief Seattle Council is happy to again sponsor a merit badge clinic. Sessions will be held at the Frontier LDS Building in Silverdale. The Clinic is open to all registered Boy Scouts from ages 11 to 18.

There will be three 3-hour sessions.

Saturday, December 17th

Session 1 - 8AM to 11AM

Break – 11AM to 11:30AM

Session 2 – 11:30PM to 2:30PM

Break – 2:30PM to 3PM

Session 3 - 3PM to 6PM

Rules for Participation

Each unit must provide one adult onsite in order for boys to participate. This adult must be onsite whenever their unit has boys registered in a class. Adults can rotate and switch throughout the day but one must be onsite at all times when you have boys in classes. Onsite adult name and contact information will be provided at the check in desk to the event managers. This will help us with crowd control, as well as ensure quality of results within the classroom environment.

Scouts are expected to arrive early in order to check-in in the gym prior to their first class of each day.

There is a NO FEE for participation.

Bring a sack lunch and snack foods, it can be a long day if you don't have food.

A uniform is expected to be worn in classes (exceptions are made for certain badges and the counselor will provide that information).

Scouts must behave in a Scout-like manner (Oath and Law).

· Vandalism, foul language and fighting will not be tolerated in any way and will result in immediate dismissal from classes.

· We recognize that many of the scouts are young and some have special needs, we want all scouts to have the best opportunities to learn. If you are concerned as an adult that a scout may have a hard time sitting still and learning you may consider sitting in on the class and assisting the counselor.

· Youth who are being overly disruptive during class may be removed from the group and delivered to their unit leader. The scout will be allowed to return to class only when calmed down. Continual disruption may result in the scout spending the remainder of the class period with their leader or being picked up by their parent/guardian.

· Credit will not be given for requirements missed when the scout is not in class.

Note: The Unit adults are responsible for the scouts who attend.

Counselor Information
The Merit Badge Counselor will give credit for COMPLETED requirements only. The Scout should complete all other prerequisite requirements not covered in class prior to the clinic. In some cases, class work will be followed by individual Scout's projects to fulfill all requirements. If a scout is removed from class due to excessive disruptive behavior credit for requirements missed will not be given.

PARTIALS: Before signing up for a class you have a partial for, contact the counselor, they may be able to meet with you during break times and sign off your partials and free you up to take a different class.

Check back periodically to verify the status of prerequisites for the classes.

All Scouts must bring the following to class:

Blue Card SIGNED by their Unit Leader

Any class specific fees, these are paid to the counselor and should be paid in cash.

Merit Badge booklet Merit Badge worksheet (http://meritbadge.org/wiki/index.php/Merit_Badge_Worksheets)

Any prerequisite work

Blue Cards will be updated with tasks completed in class and returned to the Scouts BEFORE they depart the classroom. It is the responsibility of the Scout to request and obtain his Blue Card.

Unit Sign-up Instructions
We use http://meritbadge.info/ as our tool for signing up for classes.

If you are a returning user just use your username and password from previous years and then signup your scouts.

NEW USERS To Register:

Click on the "Register New User" link at the top of the page.

Fill in the State, Council, District, Unit Type and Unit Number from your Unit. If your unit number is not already listed, enter it in the space provided and click "Add"

Enter your personal information. If you are a unit leader or parent, jump to the bottom of the page and click "Add User". If you are a Merit Badge Counselor, please fill in the associated fields, select "Register as a Merit Badge Counselor" and click "Add User"

To sign up your scout(s):

1. Click "Sign On" at the top of the page; enter email address and password.

2. If you are not taken to the Upcoming Events Page, click the "Events" tab at the top of the page.

3. For a list of all the merit badges being offered, sessions available, prerequisites, number of seats open, and additional costs if applicable, click on Sinclair District Annual Merit Badge Clinic (you cannot sign up for the classes from this page).

4. From the Events page, click on the "Sign Up" link on the line for Sinclair District Annual Merit Badge Clinic (very right side of the page).

5. Enter the information for each scout (name, age, guardian phone number, guardian email, session number, and requested badge). Click "Add" located right under the session block. If signing up a scout for more than one badge, ensure the name, age and guardian email are entered identically or the system will see it as a different participant.

NOTE 1:  Some badges are for mutiple sessions. If you sign up for a merit badge with multiple sessions your are required to attend all sessions to earn the badge. EX: If a merit badge is listed for Sessions 1 and 3 and you choose the badge, you are signed up for sessions 1 and 3.

NOTE 2: The system does not prevent you from signing up for more than one class being held in the same session so be sure you are signing up properly for your classes. Verify that you only have one class per session and that any multiple session clases are accounted for. EX: If you have a multiple session class for sessions 1 and 3, you cannot sign up for a badge that is only session 3.

6. At least on adult listed at the bottom of the page under Unit Leader Roster must be listed as attending event (choose select/unselect to change attendance event status). This is a limitation in the program and this may or may not be the onsite adult representing the unit. One adult from each unit is required to be onsite at all times when scouts are in classes.

It is STRONGLY SUGGESTED that Scouts download and use the merit badge workbooks to complete prerequisites before and then for note taking during the sessions (http://usscouts.org/usscouts/mb/worksheets/list.asp).

If you have any questions, please contact:
