If you are having trouble registering scouts, carefully read the information on the help tab.
If you send an email that does not include the information we need to help you, it wastes time and will get promptly deleted.
Test drive the new site (in progress) at New Meritbadge.Info.Leave comments at our Facebook page.

Notice!!! Meritbadge.Info will switch to the new site with BSA validation Friday morning March 13th.

If you wish to start using this site today, click here to launch meritbadge.info/mbn2

Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.

How will we do this?

What should you do?
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

Regardless of the number of merit badge classes a scout takes, the cost is $20 per scout. Lunch is included in the $20 registration fee.

Unit Sign-up Instructions

CLASSROOM SETTING:

We offer hands-on quality merit badge classes. Each Merit Badge Class is staffed with professional/expert instructors in the subject matter. When registering individual Scouts through the on-line registration system, the Troop Merit Badge Coordinator is requested to provide an email address for each Scout. This will allow Merit Badge Counselors the ability to pass information pertaining to their classes prior to the merit badge event. In the spirit of BSA Youth Protection guidelines, please provide an email address for the Scouts parents rather than the individual Scout.

RULES FOR PARTICIPATION:

1. Each unit must provide one adult for every 6 boys who participate, or fraction thereof. This will help us with crowd control, as well as insure quality of results within the classroom environment. The parents will be needed in the classrooms to help with things like keeping order, filling out blue cards, etc. They need to plan on staying and participating. These adults will need to be present when the Troop checks in the day of the event.

2. Scouts must have prior approval from their Scoutmaster before attending. This is indicated by the Scoutmaster’s signature on their blue card. Since they must have this in order to participate, no blank blue cards will be available at the event.

3. Scouts must behave in a Scout-like manner. Disruptive youth will be removed from the group and either spend the remainder of the day with their Scoutmaster or be picked up by their parent/guardian. Note: The Unit adults are responsible for the scouts who attend.

RIGHT TO LIMIT OR CANCEL:

Troop 212 will reserve the right to limit or cancel any class. Merit Badges to be offered are subject to change based on MB Counselor availability and class minimums. Registration by Troop is REQUIRED. Open and ending enrollment will be limited to the dates above indicated.

FIRST COME FIRST SERVED:

Scouts are admitted to classes on a first come, first served basis via the online registration system. There is no waiting list for any of the merit badges classes. Should you encounter booked classes, please monitor this website in case seats become available.

EXPECTATION:

Scouts are strongly encouraged to read the Merit Badge Booklet and finish all pre-requisites before attending the Merit Badge Clinic.

FIRST AID STATION:

First Aid will be provided. Local emergency medical services (911) will be utilized if required. UNIFORM: The Full B.S.A. Class A uniform is the official uniform for the day. The merit badge sash may also be worn.

CODE OF CONDUCT:

The Scout Oath, the Law, and the Outdoor Code shall be the code of the Merit Badge Day. A Scout whose conduct is not consistent with the code will be directed to leave the grounds immediately. Adequate supervision must be provided by each participating unit. Discipline is the responsibility of the Scoutmaster or other assigned leaders in charge of the troop.

TRANSPORTATION:

The troop Leaders must coordinate arrival and departure time for transportation. Troops need to make certain that they have adequate transportation for their Scouts. Please advise your parents NOT to drop or pick up scouts. ALL transportation TO and FROM the school must be arranged within your troop. Encourage everyone to carpool. Troops may not leave Scouts by themselves to be picked up by parents at a later time. We will not render sitting services. Also, the Troop is responsible for each boy's safe passage to and from the event - we will NOT release any boys to individual parents – the Troops are responsible for each boy.

FOOD:

The price of the event includes a lunch. Food and beverages are NOT allowed in the classroom, but there will be a Troop 212-run Snack Bar set up, and there will be staggered formal breaks, so feel free to bring your own refreshments or purchase some at the event. All "Adult Volunteers" will be charged $5 and a lunch will be provided. Please ensure that all your required adult leaders are registered and you pay for them as part of your payment.

CLEAN UP:

A Scout is clean. Troop Leaders must coordinate with their troops to clean the premises and to keep the classrooms in the same condition as found. Future offerings of will largely depend on how neat we leave the place. All garbage must be properly disposed into designated containers or carried out. No Troop will be dismissed until the area is in presentable order.

SECURITY:

Because the public has access to the School, units will need to exercise their own vigilance. Report any incidents to the event organizers or the local police.

SPECIFIC SIGN-UP INSTRUCTIONS:

Many classes have pre-requisites which must be done if you wish to complete the badge during class. Some classes also have age and/or rank requirements. Unless indicated otherwise, all other requirements for the Merit Badge should be covered in class. For ALL classes, Scouts are required to READ and BRING the Merit Badge pamphlet.
