Due to unforeseen circumstances, please, check the web site on the night prior to MBC to see last minute updates, particularly if you are travelling a long distance.

Refunds will be made if your class is cancelled and you do not wish to take another class.

NO WALK-INS will be allowed. Registration by Troop is REQUIRED. Open enrollment will begin on February 1, 2006 and end on March 3, 2006. All applications must be postmarked on or before March 3, 2006 to be eligible.

The Full B.S.A. Class A uniform is the official uniform for the day. The merit badge sash may also be worn.

Merit Badge College Code Conduct:
The Scout Oath, the Law, and the Outdoor Code shall be the code of the Merit Badge Day. Any scout violating the code will be removed from the class and forfeit his fee. Adequate supervision must be provided by each participating unit. Discipline is the responsibility of the Scoutmaster or other assigned leaders in charge of the troop.

The troop Leaders must coordinate arrival and departure time for transportation. Troops need to make certain that they have adequate transportation for their Scouts. ALL transportation TO and FROM The Merit Badge Day must be arranged within your troop. Encourage everyone to carpool. Leaders may not leave Scouts by themselves to be picked up by parents at a later time.

If any of the Boy Scouts are going to instruction away from Shelton State Community College, adult leaders may need to assist in this transportation.

Clean Up:
The Scout is clean. Troop Leaders please coordinate with your troop to clean the premises and to keep the classrooms in the same condition as found. Future offerings of the Merit Badge Day will largely depend on how neat we leave the place. All garbage must be properly disposed into designated containers or carried out.

Units will need to exercise their own vigilance. Report any incidents to the event organizers. The telephone number of the Shelton State Community College security desk is 391.2377

Many classes have prerequisites which must be done if you wish to complete the badge during class. Some classes also have age and/or rank requirements. Unless indicated otherwise, all other requirements for the Merit Badge should be covered in class.

1. Please, note that all participants, both adult and Boy Scout, are registered by troop. Adult volunteers MUST register first. The process is very similar to going to summer camp.
2. The adult leader Scout Leader must regiister first.
3. Press the "Unit Sign-Up" button at the top of the page. You will now see a page titled "Scout Registration."
4. Press the "Find" arrow to locate "10th Anniversary Merit Badge College." At the bottom of the page you will find a "Unit Leader Roster." Under the column "Attending Event," make sure that the entry is "Yes." If it does not say yes, you can not register your Boy Scouts. To change it from "No" to "Yes," all you have to do is press the "Toggle" button. Whwn it says "Yes," you can now register Boy Scouts.

Always check the merit web badges for updates to the current badges as to the addition of new badges. I will be adding more badges as soon as I can verify Merit Badge Counselors.

1. If you ever encounter an error message, just hit the back arrow on your web browser and press the "update" button again. If if fails after two attempts, please, e-mail William Aldridge with the problem. Also, please include your day and night phone.
2. I have noticed that it takes two attempts to enter the Council name and District name. When you enter the Council name, please check the drop-down menu first.

For ALL classes, Scouts are required to READ and BRING the Merit Badge pamphlet. Also, Scouts are required to BRING a SIGNED Blue Card from the Scoutmaster. Registration is by Troop. If your payment will be late, please, contact William Aldridge, the Event Coordinator, as soon as possible.

Payment Instructions for the Unit
Last Update to this section: February 17, 2006 a.

Just like summer camp, it is best to make one check from the troop account for all boys in the troop.

It is IMPORTANT to prepay before the registration deadline. This prevents the cancellation of classes for non-payment. Some instructors are travelling a great distance to help the Boy Scouts. I want to let each one know if the class is cancelled the week prior to the MBC. If your payment will be late, please, contact William Aldridge, the Event Coordinator, as soon as possible.
