Notice!!! Meritbadge.Info will switch to the new site with BSA validation Friday morning March 13th.
If you wish to start using this site today, click here to launch meritbadge.info/mbn2
Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.
We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.
Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.
How will we do this?
What should you do?
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info. Let others in your unit know they should do the same. We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

Sponsor Information |
Southern Polytechnic State University is a special-purpose institution in the University System of Georgia, with about 3,800 students. We have a unique, statewide mission to offer bachelors and masters degrees and continuing professional development in science, engineering, technology, and related fields. We focus on how to apply knowledge and to use technology to solve real problems and contribute to Georgia's economic development. We attract outstanding students, whose entering SAT scores are among the three highest in the University System (along with Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia). Employers love hiring our graduates because they are well prepared for the workforce. |
Description |
Day of Merit, first held in 1999, is an opportunity for scouts to visit the SPSU campus for a day and work on science-, technology-, and citizenship-themed merit badges with SPSU faculty members and other experts. The badges offered at Day of Merit highlight the range of programs offered at SPSU. |
Counselor Information |
Day of Merit instructors are experts in their respective fields, but most are not registered BSA merit badge counselors and therefore have no official authority to sign blue cards.
Day of Merit organizers have, as a result, developed the following procedure (modelled on the one used at U. S. Space Camp in Huntsville, AL):
At the conclusion of the event, Day of Merit instructors will provide each Scout in their class with a sheet identifying which requirements the Scout has completed (either by doing the work in class or by having out-of-class work approved by the instructor). Troop leaders are encouraged to accept these sheets as the functional equivalent of a blue card--proof that the Scout has completed the requirements listed--and (if the sheet shows all requirements completed) to award the merit badge without further paperwork. Scouts whose troops require the use of a blue card under all circumstances should bring their Day of Merit sheet to a troop-approved counselor for the appropriate badge, and ask them to convert it to a properly signed blue card.
Questions about this policy may be directed to Bowdoin Van Riper [SPSU Day of Merit Coordinator and Troop Committee Chair, T479 (ret)] at bvanripe@spsu.edu
