This is a Shotgun Shooting Merit Badge Class. The class will be conducted at River Bend Gun Club by NRA Certified Range Safety Officers and NRA Certified Shotgun Instructors. The curriculum for this class is designed to satisfy the B.S.A. Shotgun Merit Badge Requirements and is not an approved NRA Course. THIS SESSION IS LIMITED TO 5 SHOOTERS. FIRST 5 REGISTERED WILL BE ACCEPTED. Prerequisite is to read the Shotgun Shooting Merit Badge Pamphlet and complete the Shotgun Shooting Merit Badge Worksheet prior to arrival at the range. If you arrive without the worksheet you will only receive a partial for the shooting portion of the requirements.
Bring a folding chair - NO PLACE TO SIT, signed range release, $50 cash ($35 initial registration and $15 if needed to buy an additional 25 rounds of ammunition and 25 additional clay targets if needed to qualify), completed shotgun shooting worksheet, water and snacks/lunch, sunscreen and a cap.
The session will open with registration at 12:00 pm and registration will close at 12:15 am. The safety briefing will begin and no late arrivals will be accepted into the class once the safety briefing starts as the instructors will not start over or repeat the information. Be there early to be on-time! Be prepared to remain until 5 pm
Shooters for this event must be 13 years of age to register. Do not ask for exceptions. Qualification for this badge takes time, physical strength and endurance. Everyone may not qualify during this single event and may have to arrange with the counselor an appointment to complete the shooting qualification at additional expense for the targets and ammunition.
Participants will be provided with shotguns, ammo, targets, and eye and ear protection!
