If you are having trouble registering scouts, carefully read the information on the help tab.
If you send an email that does not include the information we need to help you, it wastes time and will get promptly deleted.
Test drive the new site (in progress) at New Meritbadge.Info.Leave comments at our Facebook page.

Notice!!! Meritbadge.Info will switch to the new site with BSA validation Friday morning March 13th.

If you wish to start using this site today, click here to launch meritbadge.info/mbn2

Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.

How will we do this?

What should you do?
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

The Apalachee Advance-A-Rama is an annual one day Merit Badge clinic designed to help and encourage Scout advancement. Held at Central Gwinnett High School in Lawrenceville, GA, this event is typically attended by over 500 Scouts.

The Apalachee Advance-A-Rama provides an emphasis on the path to Eagle, and offers nine (9) Eagle required Merit Badges, including camping, citizenship in community/nation/world, communications, emergency preparedness, first aid, personal management, and sustainability. Additionally, a class on advancement will be provided for parents and adult Scout leaders by Council advancement chairman, Will Strother.

This year, we are happy to offer a new BSA merit badge Digital Technology, which replaces the old Computer merit badge.

What Your Troop Needs to Know

During the online registration process, the Scout must enter in the Scoutmaster's name and email address. Once registration closes we will email a roster to each Scoutmaster.

We are asking that the Scouts check in as a Troop. Be on time and ready, doors open at 8:00 a.m., troops must be checked in by 8:40 a.m.

Provide adequate transportation to and from the school. Parking is at a premium so carpooling is recommended. Scouts must depart the school at the end of classes. Have Scouts assemble in cafeteria for departure. If your troop is not providing transportation, adequate adult supervision must be with Scouts at all times until the last Scouts leaves. Scouts will not be allowed out of classrooms, except during breaks. Units will provide adult leaders for supervision of hallways.

Each unit participating must have at least two adult leaders at the event to provide proper supervision.

Remember … Scouts will not be allowed out of the cafeteria area during lunch. Do not take Scouts out of the building during lunch. The concession stand will be closed to Scouts during class time.  Some merit badges have pre-requisites and fees.Scouts are required to provide their own Blue Card, which has been signed by the Scoutmaster. Scouts, who do not complete all requirements for the merit badge, must complete the requirements at the troop level.

What the Scout Needs to Know

Some merit badge classes may have prerequisites.    It will be your responsibility to familiarize yourself with these and have them completed. Merit badge blue cards will not be signed off for partials.

"Be prepared" and bring notepaper and pens to take notes.   Be sure to bring a signed merit badge blue card, completely filled out with Troop and Scout information, as well as name of merit badge class. This is mandatory. We are reinforcing the proper merit badge procedures as laid out by BSA.

Class A uniform is required.

If you did not order pizza for lunch, bring a sack lunch. You may only eat in the cafeteria during lunch. No Scouts will be allowed out of the cafeteria during lunch.   Bring water for  hydration

Be sure to purchase and read your merit badge book before Advance-A-Rama and complete all pre-requisites.  Merit Badge pamphlets are available at our both service centers in Lawrenceville and Jefferson and will be available for sale at the Advance-A-Rama, as well as the 2015 Requirements book.

A concession stand with soft drinks, snack foods, and coffee will be available before classes and during lunch.   The concession stand is closed to Scouts during class time.

Scouts will not be allowed out of classrooms, except during breaks and lunch. You don't own it – you don't touch it! We are guests at the school.

Follow the instructions of your merit badge counselor and adult leaders monitoring the hallways. Proper Scouting behavior is both expected and required.

Classrooms must be cleaned and restored to original order before scouts are dismissed from class. We should "Leave No Trace" of our being at the school.
