Description
This Merit Badge Powwow Is for all registered Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, and Venturers working on merit badges. Participants may be assigned up to four merit badges. An email address IS required to register. Upon registering, each scout should access a worksheet for each merit badge for which he is enrolled. These can be found at The worksheet explains what the scout should do to complete each requirement. Upon receiving these sheets, the scout should obtain the most recent corresponding merit badge pamphlet to begin studying and working on the first week’s requirements. Merit badge pamphlets can be obtained at the BSA Scout Store in Manchester, or at other authorized BSA distributors. A selection of Merit Badge pamphlets will also be available at the powwow. In accordance with the advancement policy on group merit badge instruction, each scout will pass-off his requirements individually. Attendance alone is not enough to earn a merit badge. All requirements must be completed for the scout to receive credit. Merit badges will require work outside of the Powwow.
Counselor Information
Each counselor will receieve blue cards from the participants on the first day. These cards should have already been signed by the leader. Counselors will then keep a roster of the participants, marking each requirement off as the individual participants complete them. Following the last class of the powwow, counselors will sign the blue cards for all completed merit badges, and record on the blue card which requirements were completed for participants that did not complete the merit badge. All blue cards should be returned to the participants at the last class.
