Notice!!! Meritbadge.Info will switch to the new site with BSA validation Friday morning March 13th.
If you wish to start using this site today, click here to launch meritbadge.info/mbn2
Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.
We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.
Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.
How will we do this?
What should you do?
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info. Let others in your unit know they should do the same. We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

Description |
Registration:
Registration for Merit Badge University begins on October 7th and ends on October 27th. Unit leaders are responsible for to register their scouts online. Mail in registrations will not be accepted. After the closing date, the event will be offline and no changes allowed. Any class changes required after closing must be taken care of at the event. Walk-in’s will not be accepted.
Scouts can register for any combination of available merit badge sessions (some merit badges require multiple sessions – see registration information.) Class seats are limited and are filled on a first come first served basis. Total event registration is limited to the first 200 scouts.
***NEW*** - This year attending Troops need to register all leaders and register for meals. Please register all leaders as “Adult Volunteers” and register one individual from your Troop for each meal. FOOD 1 = Friday Dinner, FOOD 2 = Saturday Breakfast, FOOD 3 = Saturday Lunch.
Merit Badges offered are subject to change based on the merit badge counselor availability and/or meeting minimum class size requirements.
Event Fees: $40.00 per Scout, $20.00 per Leader Late Registration: Additional $20.00 per person Activity fees for certain merit badges may apply and will be listed on the registration website.
Please do not pay for the event based on the total given on the registration website. If you would like to pay in advance, please email Candace Crimm at candycanelane78@gmail.com for an invoice.
By registering for this event, Units are confirming their attendance. A confirmation email will not be sent. Registrations will be finalized and fees calculated on October 28th. Units are responsible for fees for anyone on their roster at that time. Please remember to double check your registration before the closing date to make any changes. No refunds will be issued for scouts/adults/troops that do not attend. Units may substitute another scout as long as they are taking the same classes as the originally registered scout.
Lodging:
Attending Troops are responsible for their own lodging. Designated camping areas will be available on the TEC Center campus for those that choose to camp out.
Event Details:
Registration and check-in will be held at the TEC Center. Please be sure you have two deep leadership present at check in. Each registered scout will receive a wristband that needs to be worn at all times. This wristband grants entrance to Merit Badge sessions and meals. Merit Badge counselors will be instructed to send any scout without a wristband back to registration.
Please note that merit badge sessions will be held at both the Gillette College main building and at the Technical Education Center (TEC). Classrooms will be used both in the TEC Center and the main building. There is parking directly in front of the TEC Center (recommended for check-in). Many merit badges will be located off site; no transportation will be provided but maps and directions will be available.
All Scouts and adult participants are required to attend an Opening Flag Ceremony Friday beginning at 5:30 PM at the TECH Center.

Preparation:
Scouts need to be prepared for the merit badge classes they are taking. Not all merit badges can or will be completed at the event. Some scouts may only earn a partial merit badge and the remaining requirements will need to be completed at their home unit.
In order to facilitate completing merit badges, Scouts are encouraged to review all the classes they are taking and complete any prerequisites prior to the event. Prerequisites are listed on the registration website. We also encourage scouts to review and/or complete some of the merit badge worksheet before attending class. Worksheets are the responsibility of the units and will not be provided at the event. Merit Badge worksheets can be downloaded from this website: http://meritbadge.org/wiki/index.php/Merit_Badge_Worksheets
All Scouts will bring their own blue cards that are already filled out and Scouts are responsible for having them signed by the merit badge counselors. If they are left at MBU, the Scout is responsible for replacing them; they will no longer be mailed. Scouts are welcome to bring their own books, games, cards, and movies for free time. None will be provided during the event.
Scout Spirit:
Class A Uniforms are required for attendees. The Scout Oath and Scout Law will be enforced at Merit Badge University. A Scout whose behavior and conduct that is not consistent with the Scout Oath and Scout Law will be asked to leave the classroom. Merit Badge Counselors or Event Volunteer decisions in this matter will be final. Adult leader participants and additional adults must supervise their scouts.
Discipline is the responsibility of the Scoutmaster and adult leaders and not the merit badge counselors or event volunteers. Adult leaders that are not taking adult training will need to be in the merit badge classrooms assisting counselors.
Leaders and scouts are asked to keep the college and TEC center as we found it. LEAVE NO TRACE.
