Submit your registration before 11/27/2019

Register online at meritbadge.info

If you are new to the system, you must first create a user profile.

NEW PROFILE CREATION

Click on Register New User in the top right corner of the home page of meritbadge.info.  If you wish to enter your BSA ID# and date of your Youth Protection Training, you may but are not required.  If you do not enter a valid YPT date, you will receive a warning screen when logging in, but you can click past it.

If you select the correct STATE, COUNCIL, DISTRICT, UNIT TYPE and UNIT NUMBER, all of your Scouts in your unit will appear on a single roster.  If someone happens to enter the wrong council, district, etc. he/she can correct this by going to Change Unit in their online profile to make the change.

Once a parent, Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster have registered in the system, they can register ANY Scout in their Troop.

STEPS TO REGISTER AND ADD SCOUTS TO THE EVENT

  1. From the main page (showing a map of the USA), scroll to the event titled Troop 269 Merit Badge Challenge 2019-20, Aurora, OH.  This list is sorted by Date by default, so look for 12/7/2019.

  2. Read all of the information below the table of activities (merit badge listing) and at the bottom click “Sign Up My Unit” to enter the event registration.

  3. If you already have an account, skip to Step 4.  Otherwise, go back up to the NEW PROFILE section above to register on the site.

  4. Enter the Scout’s First Name, Last Name and their age.  Also enter the parent/guardian’s phone number and the parent/guardian’s email address – DO NOT USE THE SCOUT’S PHONE OR EMAIL. ?

    1. NOTE: Merit Badge Counselors may email class information prior to the event.  In the spirit of the BSA Youth Protection guidelines, please provide an email address for a parent/guardian rather than the Scout.  The Scoutmaster/Unit Leader should not use his email address to register all of the Scouts in his Troop.

  5. Select a class period in option #1.  MB1 = class period 1, MB2 = class period 2, MB3 = class period 3, MB1 & MB2 = class periods 1 and 2 (typically First Aid merit badge).

    1. If you select First Aid in classes MB1 & MB2, you will only need to select one more merit badge in MB3.

  6. Once you’ve selected a class period, the screen will refresh showing the available merit badges for that class period.  You will see the Merit Badge Name – Instructor’s Last Name – Available Open Slots for that class.  If the class is full, you will not see a listing for that merit badge/class period combination.

  7. Click Add to register for that merit badge event.

  8. Repeat for the same Scout to register for the other sessions.  Each Scout should have a merit badge selected for each MB1, MB2 and MB3 class period (unless taking First Aid, then it would be MB1 & MB2 and MB3).

  9. Once that Scout is completed, go back to Step 4 and add the new Scout’s name and contact information.

  10. Repeat Steps 4-9 for all Scouts in a unit.

  11. Once you have completed registration for your Scout(s), click the red button “Show Details/Payment Instructions.
