If you are having trouble registering scouts, carefully read the information on the help tab.
If you send an email that does not include the information we need to help you, it wastes time and will get promptly deleted.
Test drive the new site (in progress) at New Meritbadge.Info.Leave comments at our Facebook page.

Notice!!! Meritbadge.Info will switch to the new site with BSA validation Friday morning March 13th.

If you wish to start using this site today, click here to launch meritbadge.info/mbn2

Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.

How will we do this?

What should you do?
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

The Naples Merit Badge Day has been hosted by North Naples United Methodist Church for the last 9 years.  Various Troops in the Alligator District have come together to provide Merit Badge Counselors and Support to provide a successful event to the benefit of all attending scouts.

The Classes offered may change in the next few weeks where some may be added / deleted, please check back

NOTE - INDIVIDUAL BLUE CARDS WILL NOT BE USED,  THE ROSTER WILL SERVE AS REQUIREMENTS BEING MET

The roster also serves as a "grade sheet." The number for each requirement is listed and should be marked with an "X" to signify that the requirement has been completed. There is also the option to mark "All Complete" for an individual Scout.  The grade sheet serves as an advisory document for the Scout’s unit leader or merit badge counselor – it is not a replacement for a blue card.  These sheets will be available after the Event online at   bsatroop243.com
Description
Event Schedule:

Check-in:                      7:30 - 8:15

settle in first session      8:15 - 8:30

Morning session:           8:30 – 11:30

Lunch:                           11:30 – 12:15 (varies by class at discretion of instructor)

Afternoon session:        12:15 – 3:30

The objective of the Naples Merit Badge Day is to provide a selection of Merit Badges that a Scout may not have and will need to complete for their path to Eagle. Scouts may sign up for two Merit Badges that will be offered during two sessions between: 8:30 – 11:30; 12:15 – 3:30 (includes a 45 minute lunch break) Your Scout must be engaged to gain a Merit Badge while he is at the Sessions.

Some sessions for Merit Badges will require off site work (homework) and/or field trips in order to complete all requirements. A look at the Prerequisites will help you sort through this. Scoutmasters should approve all merit badges that their Scouts sign up for. Remember that attendance alone may not result in all requirements being completed. Scouts must participate and demonstrate they have met each requirement with the Counselor.

Scoutmaster, Committee member or YPT adult are invited to be in attendance.

Lunch will be served (hot dog, chips, drink, cookie) and is included in the price, if your Scout has specific dietary needs plan to bring a sack lunch.
Counselor Information

Each counselor will be provided a roster of all Scouts registered for their class.  the counselors are requested to take attendance at beginning of class in the morning and when class starts again after lunch. Simply line out any Scout not present and add the name and the Troop number for any Scout not listed.

the instructor is asked to return the class roster to the "check-in" area at the completion of class.

All instructors have the ability to contact Scouts registered for their class. In the interests of Boy Scout Youth Protection policies the email address for Scouts is that of their parent or Troop leader.

Unit Sign-up Instructions

Each Scoutmaster can sign their Troop up or designate one person to register all Scouts using the MERITBADGE.INFO system.  Troops can sign up by registering here and adding their scouts.  Individual scouts can register by filling out the form on http://www.bsatroop243.com and sending to mbdaynaples@gmail.com   Walk-in registration the day of the event is not encouraged due to possible limitation on classes available.

Check-in (day of event) is required.

Scouts will need to bring pen or pencil and a folder or three ring binders for the workbooks. Scoutmasters should provide Blue Cards for each Scout, with the front completed and signed by the Scoutmaster.   If indidvidual scout is signing up you should get your scoutmaster signature on your blue card or bring your own card with you. ALL SCOUTS SHOULD BRING THEIR OWN PRINTED WORKSHEETS FOR EACH SESSION THEY WILL ATTEND.

Uniform:  The full B.S.A. Class A uniform is the official uniform of the day.

Code of Conduct:  The Scout Oath, the Scout Law and the Outdoor Code shall be the code of conduct for the Day. In the unlikely event that the instructor believes a Scout is disreputing the learning experience for other Scouts, the Scout will be removed from the class and escorted to the check-in area.

By registering, it is assumed that the Scout has permission of the Scoutmaster to participate in the class for which registered. Within 36 hours of the completion of the Day, all class results will have been input to www.meritbadge.info.  Troops may see and print results through the reigstration system for www.meritbadge.info

Clean-up:  The Scout is clean.  We are the guests of the North Naples United Methodist Church.  Our goal is to be good stewards and to Leave No Trace by keeping the premises and classrooms in the same condition as found.  Future offerings will depend on how neat we leave the grounds and our conduct.  All garbage must be properly disposed in designated containers.  Dismissal from the 2nd session in the afternoon will depend upon the inspection.

Scout Email Address – Telephone Number:  The online registration system requests the email address and telephone number for Scouts participating in the MBD.  This is intended to facilitate the Merit Badge Counselor providing information regarding prerequisites and material that will be covered in class to the Scouts prior to the MBD.  In the spirit of B.S.A. Youth Protection guidelines, please provide an email address and/or telephone number for the Scout’s parents or adult leader rather than the individual Scout.

A Scout is Prepared: Scouts are expected to bring paper, pencil, and a copy of the Merit Badge pamphlet. Any Scout expecting to complete the Merit Badge in class must also complete the pre-requisites listed on the registration page and bring them to class. Any requirements not completed in class or as pre-requisites must be completed at a later date at the Troop level.

Payment Instructions for the Unit

The cost per Scout is $12.00 which includes lunch. Everyone must pay $12, even if they only sign up for one of the two Merit Badges.   Deadline of mail in payment for a unit or individuals is April 10th.   After the deadline you can still register, but payment will have to be made at check in.   Please do not delay in registration and early payment by mail since it will make the check in process go smoother.   Seperate lines will be made for those that paid by mail early and their check in time will go faster.

NO FURTHER MAIL IN PAYMENTS
