Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.
We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.
Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.

Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info. Let others in your unit know they should do the same. We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

This event is open to all registered Boy Scouts.
This event is being hosted by Boy Scout Troop 551 of Clermont, FL. Troop 551 meets most Monday evenings at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church from 6:45pm-8:30pm.

Description |
Troop 551 has created this Merit Badge Academy to give local Scouts more opportunities to earn merit badges in small classroom settings from qualified merit badge counselors. All of the counselors have taught these classes before.
Scouts have the option of taking two 3-hour classes, however, some classes require more than both sessions. The intent is to be able to sign off Blue Cards for all scouts who come prepared with all perquisites and complete the in-class requirements.
Regardless of the number of merit badge classes a scout takes, the cost is $25 per scout. Lunch is included.
MERIT BADGE :
Please make sure a blue card is signed by your Scout Leader and brought with you the day of the event.
Some merit badges have items that can not be done in the time alotted, or must be completed within family, troop, or other activities. They are listed as pre-requisites.
If you have proof of completion please make sure to bring with you to get the sign off.
If it cannot be completed prior to the merit badge day the counselors will give you their contact information and will be able to stay in touch with you to assist you in finishing the merit badge.

When registering individual Scouts through the on-line registration system, please provide an email address for each Scout. This will allow Merit Badge Counselors the ability to pass information pertaining to their classes prior to the Merit Badge Day. In the spirit of BSA Youth Protection guidelines, please provide an email address and phone number for the Scout’s parents rather than the individual Scout. The phone number provided should also be a suitable emergency contact.
Right to Limit/Cancel:
Troop 551 reserves the right to limit or cancel any class. Merit Badges to be offered are subject to change based on MB Counselor availability and class minimums.
First come, first serve:
Scouts are admitted to classes on a first come, first served basis via the online registration system. There is no waiting list for any of the merit badges classes. Should you encounter booked classes, please monitor this website in case seats become available.
Expectations of Scouts:
Scouts are strongly encouraged to buy or borrow and read the Merit Badge Booklet and complete all pre-requisites before attending the Merit Badge Day. Scouts should be prepared to discuss, report, demonstrate, and be tested on all requirements.

The price of the event includes a lunch. Food and beverages other than water are NOT allowed in the classroom, but there will be a Troop 551-run Snack Bar set up, and there will be short breaks opportunites. Please bring extra money to purchase refreshments at the event.

In submitting this online registration, I hereby certify that I am the parent or legal guardian of the Boy Scout being registered, the “Participant”. Should any injury or medical emergency involving the Participant arise during his participation in the Troop 551 Merit Badge Day, I hereby authorize Troop 551 and its leaders to procure, and I hereby consent to the provision of, the services of physicians, nurses, emergency medical technicians, or associated personnel to provide the Participant with medical assistance and/or treatment, and agree to be financially responsible for the cost of such assistance and/or treatment. I understand such treatment will be based on information provided herein. I hereby authorize emergency transportation of the Participant to a medical treatment facility should an individual listed above consider it to be warranted. I hereby release, discharge, and otherwise indemnify Troop 551 its members and leaders and associated personnel of these organizations, against any claim by or on behalf of the Participant named above as a result of his participation in the Troop 551 Merit Badge Academy. By submitting this online registration, I certify that I have read and discussed with my son the pertinent information required for this event and that the Scout is prepared for this outing.
TALENT RELEASE:
