Registration is by Troop only.  All Scouts must register with their unit.



Designate a SPL and his adult mentor to be in charge of MBA sign ups.  Have your SPL read this page: Sr. Patrol Leader while the adult mentor familiarizes themself with the most of the pages on this website.  Be sure to print ONCE and have on hand weekly the following pdf: Prerequisites 2014 and Troop sign up sheet.  Print or download this weekly for your Troop: Seat Openings. (It gets updated every Monday morning.)  Leave only the adult mentor with access this website page: Seat Opening.

SPL will encourage signs up at weekly Troop meetings, explain merit badges, explain the process of blue cards, inform Scouts' of their responsibilty in reading their pages, prerequisites, and downloads on Seneca MBA's website at http://SenecaMBA.ScoutLander.com, collect monies for Troop Treasurer, and weekly hand over information on new sign ups to be registered online by the adult mentor.  Adult mentor will be responsible for the online process of registration for the ENTIRE Troop.  SPL should print and utilize the color coded sign up sheet available at the above link. [Payment form currently being designed for the adult mentor/Troop Treasurer.  Please be patient with us as this is the first year we've done the online registration system along with figuring out new payment logistics due to our headquarter's move to A WONDERFUL NEW OFFICE.]

Please be sure to collect ALL names for pre-order lunches: Scouts, Parents and Leaders and ADD EACH person into the online system as EACH person gets a lunch ticket.  Pre-ordered lunch consists of 2 slices of pizza, apple, cookie and beverage at $5.00 per person. Leftovers will be sold at $1.00 each item.  Tickets will be recieved at the day of the event.  (Scout recieves his parents' lunch ticket when they check in unless their last names are different.)

NO names = NO lunches regardless if payment was recieved.

Merit Badge Counselors should be getting emails directly from the Seneca.MBA at gmail.com already.  If not, please let MBA webmistress know.

Looking class session rosters:  Only counselors that are already in the MeritBadge.info system as a Merit Badge Counselor could be added by MBA webmistress (including those from out of Council).  Create a profile (done through the 'Register New User' button in the top right hand corner).  Then email Seneca.MBA@gmail.com to ask the MBA webmistress to connect your profile to the merit badges sessions you are doing.   You connect to your class roster via the 'Counselor Class Roster'.  MBA webmistress will send each Counselor their class roster after a day or so after the registration deadline closes on Midnight November 1, 2014.

(It will make your life easier.  The Seat Opening page will be updated weekly on Monday morning and color coded with yellow as a forewarning of sessions that can close out on Scouts hence the reason you have '2nd' choices on your color coded Troop sign up form.)



Steps to register:

1. Set up a profile -- Click 'Register New User' in the upper right corner.  If you already have a profile with meritbadge.info, click 'sign on'.

2. Click 'Events' - white tab on your left side

3. Scroll down the date column to 11/15/2014 for 'Seneca District Merit Badge Adventure 2014 (MBA) - Midlakes High School'.  Scroll across to the brown button ' SIGN UP' and click it.

4. After your 'CLEAR' the browser warning, scroll to the bottom for the blue 'Adults attending this event' and click on the brown button 'SELECT ONE OR MORE ADULTS TO ATTEND'.  Find yourself and click the 'ADD' button. Then click 'RETURN TO REGISTRATION PAGE'.

5. 'ADD' your Scouts - for this you will need Scouts' emails (or their parent's email) and phones.  (PLEASE include any adult names by ADDING parents and leaders information so you can do step 7 below- preordered lunch.  NO names = NO tickets regardless if paid for at the Scout OFFICE.)

6. From there you will register each Scout by 'ADD'ing their merit badges. (and Parents & Leaders for pre-ordered lunches.)

7. Pre-ordered lunch is IN the list of merit badge sessions to choose from.  Choose either  'FOOD - Cheese Pizza'    OR   'FOOD - Pepperoni Pizza'.    PLEASE include any adult names by ADDING parents and leaders to during step 5 above when you 'ADD' your Scouts.





Hint: 'ADD' button is your best friend. If you don't see it, TRY another browser.  Some work computers have pre-set locks while some home computers are older thus preventing your from seeing that vital 'ADD' button.



Add your 'early bird' sign ups and then weekly add your new scouts sign ups of  'procrastinating scouts'.  

SPL: It is VERY important that you give your Troop sign up sheet to your adult mentor WEEKLY so he/she can register Scouts before sessions closed as the online system is first come, first serve and EASILY accessible to MANY! 



SPL & Adult Mentor: Set your Troop deadline for sign up, taking into consideration the logisitcs of working with your Troop Treasurer on how you will make your payment: snail mail, fax or drop off in person.  Payment is made BEFORE the event to the Scout OFFICE, not the Scout Shop BY November 1st BEFORE 6:00 PM. (Payment form is coming.)



For Pre-ordered Lunches -- Please add EACH Scout, Leader and Adult name who are ordering the preordered lunches on the merit badge listing under 'FOOD - Cheese Pizza - PREORDERED LUNCH'.  Each person will be issued a ticket to claim their preordered lunch. FYI.. there is a choice of Pepperoni or Cheese but the online registration system lists 'cheese pizza' when I wanted just 'pizza'. (Scouts will receive their parent's ticket at Check In unless their last name is different.)  NO name = NO ticket regardless if preordered lunch payment is received.

Leftovers will be sold for $1.00/ slice and $1.00/ drink.  The procedure will be announced at the event.

Complete the MBA Payment form for Troop payment and submit it to the Scout OFFICE (not Scout Shop).  Payments can be made as follows:

Cash - in person at the Scout OFFICE.

Check - in person or by snail mail to the Scout OFFICE.

Credit Card - in person, snail mail or by fax to the Scout OFFICE.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING REGISTRATION:    A Scout is TRUSTWORTHY!

On October 15th, if a session has less than 2 scouts registered, it will be dropped from the course list.  If this happens, those scouts effected will be notified and will be asked to register for another session.



Scouts will only be allowed to sign up for ONE Eagle required merit badge.  (Only those Scouts that have earned their Star or Life rank, will be allowed to sign up for two Eagle required merit badges.)



Restriction on Sustainability: Because a large portion of this merit badge requires independent study work, only Scouts with Star rank or higher will be allowed to register for Sustainability.



Counselor A denotes sessions where scout is EXPECTED to complete ALL prerequisites / decript work BEFORE session!  PLEASE do NOT sign your Scouts up for these session unless they are FULLY committed to doing ALL their prerequisites/descript work.  Thank you!
